Who Is Jesus?

Nearly every world religion in existence today declares that Jesus was either a wise man or a prophet of God. To say that one is wise is to declare that they speak with full wisdom. To be considered a prophet one must speak under the direction of God Himself. Although these titles are quite generous, Jesus surpassed them all and declared, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NKJ) These statements made by Jesus are startling, because if he truly is who he declared to be; Jesus is the literal son of God!

Jesus alone has fulfilled over 200 prophecies concerning the messiah who would come to redeem the world from sin. These prophecies were given more than 600 years before he lived and described the events surrounding his birth, his life, and even the details on his death on a cross.  The odds of one man fulfilling just 7 of these exact prophecies would be 1 in 10,000,000,000. These facts, coupled with the teachings of the man who fulfilled them, leave us with some important questions to answer.

We cannot proclaim that a man is wise and yet a fool. We cannot declare that a man is a prophet of God and also a liar. Therefore, by our own standards, the world has in fact proclaimed that Jesus is who he said he is. Consider this; if ignorance is no excuse for the laws of our land, then truth is independent of your belief.  This means that if Jesus is the son of God, and he is, it will affect you whether you believe it or not.

Why Salvation?

Because of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden we have become separated from God and born into a sinful nature. The Bible tells us, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 3:23, 6:23) It is due to this condition that we have the need for salvation, or being SAVED from the penalty of death.

Because of God's love for His creation He gave us His son as a sacrifice for our sin so that through Jesus we could be restored unto Himself. "God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

What Must I Do?

  • Admit that you are a sinner. Ask God to cover your sins through the blood and death of his son Jesus Christ. Then confess Him as Lord. You must then commit to live your life for the one who died for you, as he gives you assistance.

"...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:9, 10

Pray Now

There are no magic words or formula needed to be saved.  All we must do is call on the name of Jesus Christ.  Consider making the below prayer your own, and let it become an expression of your heart’s intent.

Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner in need of salvation.
